It's not possible at this stage to know how the new mutant is going to behave. The fact that it seems to have spread pretty quickly suggests it's more infectious, and the fact there are many mutations increases the likelihood of some reduction in the effectiveness of vaccines. But multiple mutations do not necessarily mean it will cause more serious illness. It could even be less. Time will tell.
