Couple things, first I highly doubt he or any CEO is going to come out time after time saying their big plan moving forward is to get bought out?

 Any or most companies would​/will​ continue to build their infrastructure/move the science ahead, raise money as needed etc etc​ continuing on with their business plan​/model until​ such​ time an offer is brought forward.​In fact for all we know they may have already turned​ down one or more offers??

Second, I bet Don has told several people privately & not so privately that a deal is brewing or close,near future etc etc on both companies.

Third, i don't recall how many times over these long years that he has said"they are in discussions with Pharma"

​so ​to completely rule out a buyout is not correct IMO.
