Perhaps the Clinical Trial criteria were too stringent for the COVID-19 patient population between the study start date of 2022-01-14 and the completion date of 2022-06-22 with having only one participant. I don't think it was an issue of money.

The study registration date was first posted on 2021-05-20. Why did they wait so long to recruit patients? According to Public Health Ontario, many COVID-19 cases had severe outcomes between December 12, 2021, and June 4, 2022.
