There must have been a lot of interest from BP. I can think of only two reasons for no take ups: 1. Don's $ expectations were too high, so they walked away. 2. He wanted to continue to be involved, so they walked away.

I think his lack of experience in biotech combined with his arrogance and greed are the problem. Turning down the opportunity of a 5-year BOM2 showed how clueless he is.
