Richfield Adds Second Drill to the Blackwater Gold Project to Expand on Recent Encouraging Results

Aug. 17, 2010 (PR Newswire) --

QUESNEL, BC - Richfield Ventures Corp. (TSX.V:RVC) ("Richfield" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that a second drill has begun drilling on its 100% owned portion of the Blackwater Gold Project.

The second drill on BW 74 was collared 200m east of previously drilled BW64 ((267 metres of 1.57 g/t Au, including 32 metres of 5.46 g/t Aug. (see NR July 26, 2010)). The drill is testing southeastward gold continuity on the 100% owned portion of the project.

The first drill has drilled four holes (BW 70, 71, 72, 73) on a grid with 50 metre centres west of BW68 (227 metres of 1.51 g/t Au including 66 metres of 3.65 g/t (see NR July 26, 2010)) to test the westerly extent of mineralization on its 100% owned portion of the Blackwater Gold Project. It is currently drilling BW 75 some 50 metres east of BW 68. The first drill is 559 metres west of the second.

Both drills continue to intersect similar hydrofractured silicified lapilli tuff and breccia as seen in other holes. Assays are pending for BW 69 through BW 73 and Richfield expects to release results for these next 5 holes the week of August 31, 2010.

The holes are being drilled vertically to a depth of 300 - 400 metres.

Work Program

Drilling on the 100% owned portion of the Blackwater Gold Project is ongoing, with 25 additional holes planned in this expanded discovery area. The camp has been upgraded to an all season base and will be sufficient to add a third drill when needed. The project can now continue to operate year round.
