Richfield Drills 281.8 metres @ 1.40 g/t Au, including 31 metres of 5.01 g/t Au Extends Blackwater Bulk Tonnage Gold Discovery to the East and West

QUESNEL, BC, Sep. 2, 2010 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --

Richfield Ventures Corp. (TSX.V:RVC) ("Richfield" or the "Company") is pleased to report drill results for six more diamond drill holes on the 100% owned portion of its Blackwater Gold Project located approximately 100 km south of Vanderhoof, BC.

The drilling targeted projected extensions west of the known mineralization in previously released drill hole BW 68 (227 metres of 1.51 g/t Au including 66 metres of 3.65 g/t -see NR July 26, 2010). It also tested extensions to the east and south of previously reported drill hole BW 64 (267 metres of 1.57 g/t Au, including 32 metres of 5.46 g/t Au -see NR July 26, 2010). Four holes are reported west of BW 68 and two east and south of BW 64 as follows.

Diamond drilling has now confirmed significant widths of 1 g/t gold or better in three zones, the Gold, Richfield and Quest Zones. The three zones are located relatively close together and further work may show that they are parts of one large system.

The Gold Zone, in the northeast measures 250 metres by 300 metres; it is open to the south and northwest. Significant drill holes in this zone include BW 42, BW 43 and historic hole DAV 11.

The Richfield Zone, some 650 metres by 400 metres, is open to the south, southwest and east. Significant drill holes include BW 59, BW 63, BW 46, BW 64, BW 74, BW 48, BW 65, BW 57, BW 47, and BW 68.

The Quest Zone covers an area of 300 metres by 250 metres open on the north and south with several significant holes including BW 70, 71, 72 and historic holes DAV 05-02 and DAV 06-06.

Results show that mineralization extends at least 840 metres from BW 70 in the west to BW 74 in the east. Drilling continues to test the extent of the system.

Peter Bernier, President and CEO states "We are very pleased at our continued success in extending the limits of this large bulk tonnage gold system. The deposit represents a new style of gold mineralization in Canada and we are excited about its potential."

Widths reported are drill widths; true widths are unknown. Assays are uncut, length-weighted average values.

Quality Assurance

Richfield has implemented a rigorous quality assurance/quality control program at the Blackwater property using best industry practice and supervised by Dirk Tempelman-Kluit. The program includes chain of custody of samples from drill to laboratory. Drill core is sawn in half at the property and for each sample half of the core from one metre intervals is placed in plastic bags and sealed. The remainder is retained in core boxes stored at the project camp.

A standard sample, a blank sample, or a duplicate sample is inserted into the sample stream every tenth sample. Five certified ore assay laboratory standards are used in the program, and are supplied by CDN Resource Laboratories Ltd., an independent laboratory located in Langley, BC. Samples including the blanks, standards and duplicates, are shipped by bonded courier to Eco Tech Stewart Group Laboratories in Kamloops, BC, an internationally recognized analytical services provider. Rejects selected at random are sent to Acme Labs of Vancouver, BC for check assays. In total, 259 quality control samples (15 % of all 1784 samples) were analyzed. Richfield detected no significant QA/QC issues during review of the data.
