15 Gold properties & 1 Molybdenum resource - Beardmore & Geraldton, N/W Ontario.
I really don't know anything specific on the Moly,,,,but I was always under the impression that Roxmark management planned on deciding which resource they would mine based solely on the going price for that resource versus the cost to mine and produce said resource.
So if Gold spikes to 1500.00 an ounce,,,,I'm guessing we'd be producing the gold first. Of course some of this would depend on the exchange rate between U.S. $ and Canadian.
By having both Moly and Gold, they could adjust based on the current market conditions. I'm sure management will make the proper decision on which resource to put into production first,,,,both are high grade mineralization.
Roxmark’s strategy is to build sustainably profitable gold and molybdenum mining operations by systematically exploring and developing our properties.
We believe our molybdenum property represents a potentially important adjunct to gold mining operations and that it can be a significant additional profit stream for the Company in the future.
Yes, the upgraded Roxmark mill processed gold in 2005 and moly in 2006. The changeover from gold to moly throughput at the mill can be achieved quickly.
Three factors were involved: faith, patience and timing. We have always believed in the untapped potential of the Geraldton-Beardmore area and have maintained our focus there. We were able to step in and selectively acquire assets—mines, infrastructure and equipment—at favourable prices when gold prices were at a low ebb and the attention of many gold mining companies was elsewhere in the world.
We are optimistic because our properties include formerly producing mines (mines that closed due to a $35 gold price, not a lack of resources). Based on preliminary results of our digitizing of historical data, we believe we can extend development on such properties and, because broader geologic trends indicate the potential for additional significant discoveries. We also believe economic and political conditions will lead to continued strong gold markets.
Our prime objectives are to further delineate our gold and moly resources with a view toward advancing commercial production in both cases. We currently plan to drill more than one gold target and are assessing techniques to home in on the nature of the moly resource and techniques to most productively and profitably bring it to market. Our specific operational plans are being developed. We are excited about prospects.
