Jay Taylor, in the Dec. 16, 2011, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, refreshes his buy of Rye Patch Gold Corp., recently 69 cents. Mr. Taylor said buy on Feb. 14, 2011, at 40 cents and again on Sept. 20, 2011, at 43 cents. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each buy, the $2,000 investment is now worth $3,329. Rye Patch owns 3.9 million ounces of gold equivalent (made up of gold and silver) in Nevada. For most of 2011, its stock traded between 30 and 40 cents; at 125 million outstanding shares, the company's market cap ranged from $37.5-million to $50-million. Mr. Taylor says this range greatly undervalues Rye Patch's resources. Recently the company staked 400 claims in Nevada; the news pushed the stock up to 71 cents from 38.5 cents in a day. Some of the claims belonged to Coeur d'Alene's subsidiary, Coeur Rochester. Coeur was unable to promptly pay the annual maintenance fee for its claims, so it forfeited ownership. Now Rye Patch is conducting sampling, mapping and permitting at its newly staked LH claims. It hopes to increase its Nevada resources to 10 million ounces AuEq. Mr. Taylor is optimistic; he says the LH claims could contain between 50 million and 100 million ounces of silver.
