Excerpt from the President's letter to the shareholders in May 2014:
Over the past two years, Glencore has been aggressively advancing Hackett River, the large silver/zinc volcanogenic
massive sulphide deposit to the west of Back River. In 2011, Sabina sold the project to Glencore (then Xstrata Zinc) for
$50 million in cash, and a retained silver royalty of 22.5% of the first 190 million ounces of silver and 12.5% of all silver
produced at Hackett thereafter. We view this royalty as a significant piece of Sabina’s value going forward should
Glencore move Hackett towards production.
I know it's old news, but asuming a market price of $20/oz the silver royalty would be worth $ 855 million over the years of production for the first 190 million ounces. That certainly would be a lot of cash for a company with a current $ 67 million market cap.
My question is; is there anything that suggests that Glencore has mothballed the Hackett River project at this time, as I haven't been able to find anything?
Thanks in advance.
