Thanks for the greeting, retired miner. I remember too many shrink stopes that became wild in the old days, and I hope San Gold's miners are well enough experienced to cope with a method that has productivity advantages, but is not always the safest choice!

Given the good grades of some of the ore San Gold is mining, they might consider cut and fill or drift and fill as alternative methods less dilution-prone and safer. Since they seem to have discovered some closely parallel or intersecting ore shoots within the main structure, a filled stope system would allow better support and flexibility in mining the same.
