Anyone know what are optimal depths for open pit mines? what depth are easily achievable? im assuming 100 m would be noproblem, how about 200 m?

Any one have any probability if this would end up being an open pit mine? From my understanding they are much cheaper to run, plus im assuming they would be safer too and more desirable to work in. I just dont know much about them one way or the other.
