With the Indian wedding season fast approaching, where they throw gold/silver instead of confetti, maybe the dropping prices are just a door opener! A lost-leader of sorts to get the families into a festive mood and into the jewelery stores, where typically the line-ups are around the block.

Costco and other grocery chains do it all the time, they'll drop the price of say pork chops, everybody charges in and lo and behold, they just sold the last one!

Sometimes they'll give you a rain check, (expity date and all) sometimes they won't!

At Canadian Tire they give you the "real" thing, Canadian Tire Money! (CTM) Incidently, even CTM had risen nearly 30% against the US$! (Their (CT) printing presses have been running flat out according to a recent "flyer," just to keep up with "sold out" lost leaders not to mention the $US! (Management has clearly stated they do not want to be implicated in the inflation/deflation scanarios floated by the Boyz!))

No wonder George and Co had to take remedial action and call in a few "markers!"

They (CT) should peg it (CTM) to gold! CTM on the gold standard.

No doubt that would "turn a few heads!" Also replacing the $US as the world reserve currency, ie, gold backed CTM, would stop inflation in its tracks!
