It's true that we can't know with absolute certainty that SG will find a lot more, economically mineable, gold. Warren Buffett's amazing staying power and profitability is from total confidence that his companies will generate more cash over time, and he ignores the stock price, except when buying. Without that long term confidence it is far too easy to think a falling stock price means a bad investment, that should be sold before it goes lower.

One of the benefits of this forum is having a few, knowledgeable, confident, posters who like the long term odds of SG as a company that will have rapidly growing profits. I have no idea if the price of gold or the world economies are going to tank, but I am very comfortable that SG will produce more oz. of gold each year for a long time to come, and, even, in the worst case scenario, at a faster rate up than the POG will go down.

SG is a tough stock to trade, but it may be a once in a life time stock to hold. I would be most unhappy if I sold, and then SG continued with business as usual, because SG's business as usual is an amazing business that is going to produce a lot of cash before this is over. Maybe not this year or next, but it will happen.
