A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury.
Apparently in Greece the average age of retirement is 52. In Germany it is 67. If you were a German would you be happy bailing out Greeks that refuse higher taxes or cuts to benefits.
