Eric King: These types of declines in the metals set up magnificent buying opportunities not only in the physical metals but also in the shares. Sometimes patience can be very valuable as the commercials go about stealing money from speculators in these managed markets. We know there is still a nice size speculative short position in gold and much less so in silver so what is an investor to do?

Well you need to learn to think like a criminal. As you know by now the commercials steal money throughout the year by picking the pockets of both the large and small speculators. Once you have that mindset it is easy to take advantage of the buying opportunities that are presented because of their activity.

Eventually the gold and silver speculators are entirely flushed out of their positions and that is when you want to go long gold and silver and gold and silver shares. We are not there yet on the COT and we may not get there on this downdraft but when those opportunities are presented they are almost always fruitful entry points.
