They may have a rock solid case in most people's eyes including mine, but the underlying factor in the settlement is how much the fund saved in court and lawyer costs.

If they were successfull in defending the suit, that does not gaurantee that they could recoup their legal expenses. Completely a risk/money decision.

But it stinks none the less to have to swallow something like that.
