well Japan is better off than the US in regards to the debt situation (not in percentage terms) because most of Japan's debt is held within Japan. The US though benefits from being the world reserve currency.

Let's just hope that all the cheap money floating around does not create too much turmoil in the poorer countries that will be hit hardest by food inflation.
