I am not an expert by any stretch, however I will try to give a reasonable explanation that Lunch may correct later. lol
Mutual Funds are not allowed to trade while the session is open so if they want to buy or sell some stock they put in an order and all market participants can put in how many shares they want to sell or buy and at what price, I believe at that point the market maker matches the orders from both sides. It appears that ther was a huge order placed by somebody and you will see these stocks trade after close with the Q marker. It does not have to be a mutual fund and I believe anyone can buy or sell based on the price discovery by letting the market maker know in advance. I have never seen the S-marker before that has tagged the big cross from TD, however I am going to do some DD on that one.
