San Gold Corporation - one of Canada's most exciting new exploration companies and gold producers.
Right. But some of us (especially older guys living on the edge, financially-speaking) need to consider the risk of getting stuck "holding the bag" of excellent stocks that MAY be driven down by people who have to sell holdings in order to raise cash in reaction to receiving margin calls a la 2008.
Back in 2008 many people sold VERY good things that they REALLY didn't want to sell, but simply HAD to sell no matter how good they were, driving their SP's down. That's why i avoid using margin (for many years now, actually), and try to keep some CASH ready to deploy for such scenarios as this. Even tho i wasn't using any margin then, i still got whacked holding excellent stocks that got whacked to meet margin calls. It took a while to figure out that that's what had happened.
Sure hope this isn't a repeat of 2008. But personally, i really don't think that it is. I hope that many have changed their practices of leveraged investing or trading/speculating since then, and that more people can afford to hold tight and ride it out, and watch it turn around again pretty quickly (as i think that it will). In fact, it may even have completely turned around in time for our conference call on the 15th. (And maybe the market manipulators have already decided it that way, bless their hearts!)
Good luck! I'm keeping my chins up.
