Isn't that fund a FT fund. After taking all of the tax write offs their cost base was probably around 2 bucks. However for future taxable gains would the cost base not be zero. This seems to have been a scam directed at the tax payer as the company(SGR) got the $4 and the fund(CMT) basically got the shares for $2. Meanwhile us mushrooms are left in the dark having to worry about our future.
