With aggregation relief, a greedy ba$tard like you know who can move paper between funds without alerting the authorities and reap all the advantages. Moving shares into a long only fund adjusts the cost base down so future gains in the fund will be easilly achieved whereas moving shares out of a tax fund like cmp or cdn dominion gives tax loss advantages to the 1%ers that actually would rather send ned a cheque than CRA. If you or I sold shares from one account to another, a whole list of accounting rules apply where it would be the equivalent of dropping the irish spring in millhaven.

Here is what somebody with more shares than you or I and no qualms about submarining the working class' lifetime savings did today all in the name of rigging their portfolio.
