The way management has run this co even $2,000 an ounce would not create shareholders an increase in their share price. Just look at the preformance of their bond. If this co was expected to make a profit in the near future the bond would be over $ issued price .

All evedence points to a concerted effort to arange for a takeover so management can get their big severance pakage and forget about the small shareholders.
