San Gold Corporation - one of Canada's most exciting new exploration companies and gold producers.
Confidence builder, yes. That was how I interpreted the buying. Based upon the "rumor" provided at this forum, and the "positive evidence" of insider buying, I took a modest position in this stock in the open market, not knowing any more than just that. Some might call this foolish, and maybe it is? But @ $ .07-.09 / share, and with an attractive share float of less than 40 million currently, both + in my view, I figure I can afford the potential loss.
Not being familiar with Cougar Minerals (COU) I did google the names of the company principals: Michael Scott Elson (Pres.), and Ronald Ross Blusson (Dir) in order to see if I could dig up any dirt on either. Nothing so far, but I do see they both have been active in the mining business for some time with other companies. Elson appears to have a history of incremental share purchases in the past with other companies he's been involved with, showing similar patterns of buying.
I see back in June both Elson , and Blusson, stepped up to plate on the same day and bought close to 1/2 million shares each in the open market over a one week period with additional albeit smaller regular purchases by Elson . I find that interesting in and of itself, and it kind of begs the question as to why? What happened that week at the company? Something or maybe nothing? It's not much to hang ones hat on, but there it is.
FWIW, I am a U.S. investor, new to SGR, and the Rice Lake Camp as a whole. I have been focused over at Timmins lately with the West Timmins/LSG Thunder Creek discovery, which I'm sure most everyone is aware of by now. Being new to the Rice Lake Camp I like to look at the claims maps just to get a reasonable sense of the relative size of claim blocks, who the "players are, etc, but the SGR website doesn't provide a clear map of the region or their own properties for that matter. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Are there better (web accessible) claims maps out there? Which companies should I be looking at? Thanks in advance.
