Welcome to the Scandinavian Minerals Hub on AGORACOM
Scandinavian Mineral's current focus is the development of the Kevitsa nickel-copper-PGE (Platinum Group Elements) project in northern Finland.
Kevitsa nickel-copper-PGE
One of the largest mineral discoveries in Finland's history, the development-stage Kevitsa property hosts a measured and indicated resource of 287 million tons at a 0.1% nickel cutoff, together with a further 544 million ton inferred resource. Kevitsa is one of the world’s major undeveloped nickel sulphide deposits and is situated in an area of excellent infrastructure.
In April 2007, Scandinavian Minerals announced the commencement of its Feasibility Study for the Kevitsa project. The Study is based on an open pit mining operation, mining approximately 4.5 million tons of ore per year, with production of smelter-grade nickel and copper concentrates. The Study is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete.
