Serenic Corporation (SER), ("Serenic" or the "Corporation"), a leading publisher of financial management and business operations software for nonprofits, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the public sector, announced today that Serenic Navigator is being implemented by the Danish Red Cross (DRC), an auxiliary to the Danish government in the fields of humanitarian assistance, relief work and education. The Danish Red Cross implementation is a European "breakthrough" for Serenic and Human IT A/S, Serenic's partner in Denmark.
The DRC is one of the largest and oldest nonprofits in Denmark with offices all around the continent. DRC's mission is to support international aid and development programs in cooperation with Danida, the EU and other nonprofit organizations. In international emergencies, the DRC is present to assist locally. In Denmark, DRC also works actively towards tolerance and to make cultural diversity a strength - working against isolation and discrimination of all people. As part of its programs, the organization works in cooperation with the Danish government in the areas of asylum seekers and international humanitarian aid and rehabilitation. Branches of Denmark's government act as funding sponsors for the DRC, and it receives additional funds through grants and donations. Its 252 local branches enlist more than 15,000 volunteers.
The DRC sought to replace an older version of the Navision financial system, which had been modified to a degree that made upgrading almost impossible. It wanted to find a standard system specifically designed to meet the needs of a nonprofit organization, allowing it to report on any award or project at any time. After reviewing both Serenic's solution and other Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions, the DRC chose to implement Serenic Navigator.
"Navigator will give us direct access to 'here and now' information about a specific project, and the global dimensions feature makes it possible for us to report back to our sponsors much more efficiently," said Torben F. Norberg, the DRC's chief financial officer and administration manager. "With Navigator, we now have 100 percent assurance that we can uphold our sponsors' confidence in our organization."
37 users will access Serenic Navigator - certified for Microsoft Dynamics NAV - and AwardVision, Serenic's grant management product. The fully integrated product suite, which also includes advanced budgeting capabilities, will allow the organization to combine financials, procurement and grant management.
"Serenic worked closely with our partner in Denmark - Human IT A/S - to localize our solution for the specific functionality required in Denmark," said Serenic CEO and President Randy Keith. "Serenic Navigator can easily adapt to international business processes and currencies to help organizations like the Danish Red Cross increase efficiencies."
