Sidon International Resources Update on Saskatchewan Coal Leases
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 16, 2009) - SIDON INTERNATIONAL RESOURCES CORP. (TSX VENTURE:SD)(FRANKFURT:SY7)(OTCBB:SIDNF) Sidon International currently has final approval on 18,432 contiguous hectares (45,454 acres) of coal leases in the prospective Manville Formation in north central Saskatchewan.

This area is located in the centre of the Durango Trend. Sidon's exploration permits are located in the central portion of the "Durango Trend," which is associated with all the recent coal exploration and discoveries, about halfway between the previously identified Manville Group coal seams and the recently discovered Goldsource Zone in eastern Saskatchewan. The properties are just south of the only other coal resource identified at the Bow River Coalfield south of Lac La Ronge.

The Manville Formation has been associated with coal in the western portion of the province but the discovery in 2008 of good thermal coal in the eastern part of the province has opened the possibility of the province becoming a very significant producer.

Sidon's leases are on the western edge of a gravity low that encompasses these coal intercepts. Regional gravity low anomalies are also associated with all the other coal intersections reported to date. As well a strong magnetic linear trend just west of the property strikes north-northeast. These geophysical features are not completely understood at this time with respects to the location of coal but the gravity lows could be related to basins, thus thicker depositional environments and the magnetics related to the old paleo-valleys with the same strike which could also result in thicker depositions.

The properties have year round road access and are in an area of low hummocky terrain that appears to be well drained. An exploration program is now being formulated with a planned drill program to take place in the near future. Management is actively trying to increase the coal land position held by the company and is confident that additional acquisitions could be completed.

Kamal Alawas, President of Sidon stated, "The investing community is starting to gain confidence in the junior market and management feels that the investing community is more receptive to new prospects and growth building. We are now in a position to aggressively pursue a drill program on the current coal prospects, and are also optimistic about being able to add to Sidon's land position in the near future."

The content of this release has been reviewed and approved by Glen Macdonald, P.Geo. a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Sidon International Resources Corporation is a junior exploration company with interests in Nevada - North Dolly Varden Copper Gold Claims, North West Territories - Slave Craton Diamond properties, significant potash acreage in Alberta, Saskatchewan Coal properties, and in British Columbia - Harrison Lake West Gold Silver Claims.
