The thing to remember about War Eagle Mountain is that real mining has not taken place there for quite a while. Prospecting, mining, and milling techniques have progressed quite a bit. I've seen it written a few times that when WEM was last mined, it was not practical to process ore containing less than 2 oz/ton (don't remember if that was Au or Ag, or whether it was specified at all). That is why the tailings are so rich. It also means that previous mining probably concentrated on very obvious veins. I think there is a lot there that was overlooked or bypassed the first time, as well as more to be discovered.
