A trusted advisor who's newsletters I read recommends that we buy tangible goods: Real estate, boats, airplanes, land, gold, silver (lots of silver), diamonds and so on. He also recommends some MIC (military industrial complex) stocks as they will be good for the next few years. He doesn't believe we will totally melt down, but he does believe we will see rioting (already starting - OWS) and many people will suffer hardship. He recommends having at least six months worth of food, water, fuel, etc. in case it gets really bad. If you live in a highly urban area - you are screwed, IMO. I live out in the country - but not far enough for my comfort.
So, I will cash my SFMI stock and convert it to whatever I can as rapidly as I can. I'll probably buy some property in Idaho and bug out :-)
