The most interesting thing to point out is that Goldcorp is probably paying mostly for resources that they strongly suspect are there, but that have not yet been proved up by 43-101 compliant drilling and assay results. Another example of the fact that geos at the majors don't necessarily need the detailed results required by the 43-101 standard, but are willing to take the chance if the results that they do have provide strong enough evidence that there is a certain amount of gold there. For WEM, there is, of course, all of the historical, pre-43-101 information that led many to believe that there were multiple millions of ozs there- as in the Idaho Bureau of Mines estimate of 5-8M ozs. Shouldn't take much drilling to convince many that those estimates were correct.
