I don't really think SFMI will spend any money this year on the top of the mountain. Too much risk of not drilling in the right place. I can't really believe that after 150 years there haven't been a bunch of Geologists and miner's that haven't combed every inch of the top of the mountain. I'm sure they came to the conclusion that there were area's with potential, but the price of gold at the time didn't warrant the risk. PQ and company are looking for a home run and the odds of hitting one are much better in the Sinker Tunnel. Additionally, they can drill a lot more holes in the sinker with the money because they only have to drill anywhere from 200-500 feet since they are already so deep in the mountain. Also, the Sinker is workable all year round and allows them to adjust any timeline to cope with gliches (we haven't seen many of them have we?)
Things I like to see them do and in what order:
1. Get work restarted on the Sinker Tunnel and begin their drilling program.
2. Finish the Mill, Lab and Smelter complex and start reducing their stockpile of concentrate in order to generate revenue on a regular basis. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the concentrate doesn't need to be reprocessed thru the leaching system, just the tailings that produced the concentrate.
3. Complete the permitting process for the Leaching System and start building it.
So far, I haven't heard anything about them stockpiling additional tailings from the mountain this summer. Is this program now on hold or do they have enough tailings to work with for next winter?
Should be an interesting Summer!
