Most likely year end tax loss selling - no reason not to do this especially if you think the eventual rally could be at least 30 days off because then you can just repurchase your shares without any wash sale rules applying. And then again some folks just sell because other are selling - it seems to be more about psychology than fundamentals unless the company is going under which I doubt because Paul P. is buying in the open market.
