The pregant solution from the cianide leach system is put threw a electro winning system. The gold and silver is colected on what is normaly stanless steel plates that can be scraped off as pure gold and silver close to fore 9999 fine. Then smelted into DORE. There is little slag and very little gold or silver loss.
It makes a lot of difference when you smelt far less slag from the PM smelted when it has been threw the leach system. it is almost fore 9999 pure. melt it and pore still must go to refinery to separate gold from silver. But it is highest grade DORE
In some cases the plates used in the electrowinning are made from a gold and silver screen mix in this case the gold and silver plates are not scraped they are rinsed and straight to the smelter. It seems to be the optimum in efficiency collecting gold and silver faster. Oh yes other than pumps the only power needed is 1.5 to 2.0 volts say a AA bat.
