If I had 5 million dollars to invest into a company that I had no experience then I would have hired someone with experience. I would still be on the BOD but I rather have someone in charge that knows what they are doing, than me being able to say I am the CEO of a company, that is failing. My pride of being the CEO would not out way the money I could make if the correct people were running the company. At the end of the day when I would look into my bank account and see all the money I made, it would have been worth swollen my pride and allowing an experience person to run the company. So to conclude answering your question I could be the founder of the company but would rather have someone with more experience running the company.
