Actually, rockbolting the Sinker was a critical part of what should have happened. If they had gotten far enough to reach the veins that are supposedly ounces/ton and start excavating some test batches, they would have been able to fund much of the other stuff that needed to happen- if not all of it. I'm not sure whether they rockbolted far enough to reach those veins (they certainly knew where they were), but reaching and removing test batches should have been the priority. As far as not having the money to do it, they seemed to have plenty of funds to run the mill at a loss for two years at 20% efficiency. Imagine where we might be today if those funds had been used to work the Sinker. It's poor decisions like that that make PQ's excessive compensation even more of a slap in the face to stockholders.
