he said he received some information from a reliable source, but it was unconfirmed. many of the hedge funds that invest in precious metals as etf's or mining shares were told they couldn't use the shares as collateral any longer. many of the funds dumped the shares to raise cash to levels required to meet the margin requirements imposed by the system.
again, that is unconfirmed, but it would help to explain the large sell-off in some very good junior mining companies, and even the best news is met with selling pressure.
at least one junior had a good day today. esperanza was up almost 10%, so maybe friday's news release has convinced some investors there may be more gold at san luis than november's resource estimate would indicate.
