Less we forget on Christmas Day: God is the good Shepherd & we are like sheep - he came in flesh to-day many years ago to help all of us - to give us hope. love & eternal life.

Sometimes, some one wanders away & is lost - a terrible thing - be it a lost boy, a lost girl, a lost man or a lost woman. And God is like the shepherd. He goes out into the wilderness. He seeks. He searches until at last He finds, & then He brings the lost home. What a wonderful picture of God it is. If we forget, He does not forget. He always remembers.

A great Jewish scholar has said there is nothing like it in all the religions of the world. Other religions tell us of a God who will receive a lost sinner, but only the Gospel tells us about the God who goes out & seeks & finds the lost. That is something new, & it is something old. It is just what the Gospel tells us that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, came to do. He came to seek & to save that which was lost. Let it never be said of us that once we knew God & then forgot Him.!
