Not an expert here, but if you hold any stock thru a broker in street name, then your ownership and quantity of shares is "held in street name"...your name.

Maybe your broker did not explain this correctly.

Holding a paper certificate is old school and not advise, in fact, most companies won't even issue a paper certificate anymore.

Call the broker back and ask questions.
