There's a company called Gulf Alternative Energy Corp (GAEC) in Houston, TX that uses feed stock and turns it into a powder/small granules vs using corn.

They used to go by the name Gulf Ethanol Corp with ticker GFET.

I used to own it but sold when the PPS started to fall rapidly.

Point being, there are alternatives to using food.

With oil at current prices, not much incentive these days.
