Are we not close to the setting of a SHM? I think 45 day notice is required...? Would you want to hold a SHM and not have secured financing yet?
The SHM can be a positive event with the proper things in place before it is held, or a room of hostile share holders demanding what they deserve for years of loyalty and stock ownership.
I recall the timing of EDIG's last SHM 11/19/09 (I attended). Prior to setting the date, orders from 2 new airlines were banked, 2 airline trials were in the works, the next generation product had been introdcued at a trade show, 19 patent infringement law suits filed 11/2/09, the fiscal 3Q hit 11/16 (Mon) and the meeting was Thurs.
IMO, the timing considered many positive events were anticipated to be concluded before the meeting. The announcement was 6 weeks in advance.
I am of the opinion, to get more bang for the buck, it's all about timing, but of course, this is an example of a company in an entirely different industry.
Disclosure, yes I own the above stock.
