I mostly agree with you, but a public company has a responsibility IMO, to at least reply with something, or why even have an IR general inbox? Well, I believe they are required to....duh....

There are questions that can be answered that do no harm to the company or violate the law, such as a) how many shares outstanding as of today's date, b) how many full time employees as of todays date...and so on.

There are tons of restrictions as to what they can say, what can or cannot be answered, but I'd like to see a little more effort on the public relations side.
