Antimony breached $10,000 per tonne on Friday as Chinese offers stayed firm and buyers became increasingly desperate, market participants told us. Material traded at $9,800-10,400 per tonne, compared with $9,400-9,800 on August 18.
Antimony rose $200 per tonne on Friday as suppliers eagerly awaited a breach of the $10,000 level long-dreaded by consumers. Both trioxide-grade and standard grade II material traded at $9,400-9,800 per tonne compared with $9,200-9,600 on Wednesday.
