I can't think of a single stock, mutual fund or ETF that I have owned, that does not include past performance, past successes, as it releates to an update on the topic/project/product etc, in a press release.
IMO, Silverado is no more guilty than all of the others.
Having said that, all new fresh news, something we have never heard in any form, has more impact to investors than mentioning old stuff, with some new stuff, and have the reader connecting the dots.
A good steak, looks better and tastes better than ground chuck.
