Unless its a hugh dollar amount, it did not make sense to have a tax write-off because the clock restarts on the tax benefit. If you hold a stock a minimum of 1 year and a day, the highest tax they have to pay is 15%. If less than a year, it is based on the earnings rate of the entire year. (Can be over 30%). Hey I will happy to pay taxes on profits here.
