Yes china has coal, but i am not sure the type that they have in abundance. For the Liquid coal project, the coal needs to be soft and very low in sulpher content, which we (US) have plenty of. In Pennsylvania, they have anthricite, a very hard coal, great for coal plants and used on steam engines. High BTU content per pound. But unusable for coal to liquid applications.
