Tonto. as a senior citizen, I think my wife and I pay about $264/ 3months for semi-private hospital coverage & extra billable procedures. Our OHIP coverage in Ontario is excellent. Drug coverage is included! I might add that we fortunately have not needed treatment in the last 20 yrs.
Cooky, could elaborate on her costs in Alberta.
I almost fell off my chair when my daughter in Chicago told me last week that she is paying $900 U.S. per month for a family of 3 ( 6 week old baby) - total $ 10,800 per year with a $2500 deductible per person. Your system in the U.S. is absolutely insane!!!! Delivery costs exceeded $13000 without the obstetrician fees. No way! $500 for a circumcision - please - give me a break!
No wonder 46 Million Americans have no health insurance! Many die at home without any coverage - not hard to understand. No wonder private health insurers do not not want NATIONAL Heath Insurance like we have in Canada - greed, greeed & super greed! Who cares about the little guy - it is all about money. Maybe you should move to Canada.
