During the last gold bull market around 1980, gold went ballistic & so did mortgage rates. My 9 1/4 % mortgage soared to 23 1/2 % becuase I listened to the wise banks of the time & took a flexible mortgage related to the prevailing prime interst. What a stupid move as it turned out, but we survived with 3 kids in tow.
To-day, what would happen if interest rates approached 10 % - complete chaos?
Perhaps we should call the 21st century The Bailout Century!
