Silver Fields Resources Inc. Applies for Additional Saskatchewan Coal Permits
06:00 EDT Thursday, June 19, 2008
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 19, 2008) - Silver Fields Resources Inc. ("Silver Fields"; "the Company") (TSX VENTURE:SF)(OTCBB:SFRSE)(FRANKFURT:R... announces that the Company has made application for additional coal permits covering a new township of interest, in accordance with the Coal Disposition Act of Saskatchewan. The time frame for granting of the permits is dependent upon regulatory requirements to process the applications.
The Company has submitted applications for additional permits covering another 9,000 hectares in the vicinity of Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan, approximately 250 km north of the City of Prince Albert. Dr. K.W. Geiger Ph.D., P.Eng., P.Geo., a director of the Company, was in Regina researching historical coal documents and urged management to apply for the additional permits. Dr. Geiger felt this area was of considerable interest geologically, and was easily accessed by gravel roads, thereby reducing exploration costs.
Management will keep Silver Fields shareholders aware of the status of the coal permits, which have been filed with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources, located in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Chris England, President & CEO of Silver Fields commented, "The recent discovery of Coal deposits in east-central Saskatchewan has resulted in a "Coal Rush" with much of the available properties being targeted for permits. Silver Field's management has become very selective in acquiring additional properties, and Dr. Geiger is providing valuable guidance."
