Your posts are inspiring and are obviously the product of a lot of study and background reading. They are a credit to you and are valuable to those of us that are serious about this play and want to know more about what could have possibly happened during the initial bulk sampling.
I believe that you are correct about the clarity rating of the diamonds in the core samples. A few weeks before the SRC results were announced, Allan Barry told me that this rating had been specifically included to cover diamonds that had a coloured outer layer, but were clear inside. Of course, we now suspect that this may have been the residual part of a thicker hematite coating that had been removed by the caustic solution.
Of course, our sample has probably now spent more time in the caustic solution than the core samples, so hopefully, this will translate into even more of the coating being removed.
