Bulk Sample

All of this talk about how the bulk sample was screwed up and how the processing, etc may have produced results that are not a true indication of what is in the Mud Lake kimberlite reminds me of the mess that Kennecot made of the bulk sample from Kettle River's pipe in the early 90's. Some of you may remember that.

What is now called the D0-27 pipe is owned by Peregrine Diamonds but once belonged to Kettle River Resources and was one of the first diamondiferous pipes discovered in the Lac de Grass area. Kettle River contracted with Kennecot to take a large bulk sample from the pipe which they did. Unfortunately, they sampled the wrong parts of the pipe and came back with results that were very disappointing. In short order, the stock tanked from around $12 to eventually under a dollar. I remember this because I was a shareholder at the tiime.

Of course, as it turns out, Peregrine had another look at the pipe and are currently in the midst of a feasability study because further exploration revealed a deposit that may be viable.

According to Peregrine's website the results of the study are due out soon.

Sound familiar?
