CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 12, 2009) - Challenger Energy Corp. ("Challenger" or "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CHQ)(NYSE Alternext US:CHQ) announces that it is aware that BG International Limited ("BG") has obtained an order of the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta appointing Deloitte and Touche Inc. as receiver of Canadian Superior Energy Inc.'s ("Canadian Superior") position as operator under the August 11, 2007 joint operating agreement between Canadian Superior, BG and Challenger. Challenger is in the process of evaluating the ramifications of the appointment to our ongoing operations in Trinidad.
It lools like British Gas is trying to bully SNG with this action to drive SNG's share price way down so they can step in and pick up the shares for cheap. BG is most likely claiming that SNG doesn't have the money to pay its share of the drilling costs on the Endeavour well and that the Joint Agreement allows it to put SNG into receivership in order to get the money that is owed it. It appears that they are trying to outflank SNG and destroy it. This is beginning to look like a personal vendetta by BG, if not they are a company you would not want to do buisness with.
Stay tuned. This is war now and it about to get interesting.
Best Wishes; Scott
